公司, Taoyuan, Taiwan) ceased operations around 2024. The domains
pengohome.com and related infrastructure have been taken over by
unrelated parties. All Pengo product documentation below was retrieved
from the Wayback Machine (web.archive.org) for archival purposes.

Retail¶
- B&H product page — where most people buy it in North America. Listed as discontinued; you can occasionally find new-old-stock via the secondary market (eBay, Amazon, AliExpress).
B&H Q&A highlights¶
The B&H Q&A page (19 questions, 33 answers) is an underrated gold mine. Worth reading top-to-bottom. Highlights include:
- Latency is not officially spec'd but reported as "smooth, no perceived issue"
- Mic input is mic-level only — use a pad for line sources
- USB-A on the computer side can be USB-C via a short passive adapter
- Two Pengos on the same internal USB bus root fight for bandwidth; use ports on opposite sides of a laptop
- The USB cable shipped in the box is "proprietary" — do not substitute
Related Pengo products¶
The Pengo 4K HDMI Grabber was part of a small product line. Variants that may have shipped under similar SKUs (all UVC-based):
- Pengo 4K HDMI PCIe Capture Card — internal PCIe version. Lower latency, no USB bottleneck, requires a desktop with a free PCIe slot.
- Pengo 8K HDMI Grabber — newer flagship with 8K HDMI input (4K over USB still), USB-C output. Worth considering if you need 4K USB capture.
